- Rob,Lynne and 2 sons share their lives with about 100 Treadles, Handcranks, Miniatures and Toy sewing Machines. Rob happily spends his spare time collecting and restoring his machines and those of other people. Most of our machines sew and it is all about giving these Grand Old Ladies back a life. Lynne is an avid quilter and is seriously into collecting Reproduction fabric, Patchwork and quilting.

Hi,
I am the very proud owner of one of these sewing machine/table
The machine is stamped Britannia MFG company, Colchester, England and is a Wheeler & wilson dated 1867
The table top has a small half circle box with lid and a small box that fits over the machine, I'm not sure if this is the original as it is different from your photo
The woodwork needs to be repaired/restored, do you have any recommendations as I wish to have it restored
Do you have any idea of it's value once restored to its former glory

Sheila you are a no reply blogger. I have no way of replying to you
The small half circle box with lid is the parts box and is original. We have the markings of where ours one was but in an earlier life ours was given as an 18th birthday present and used for many many years as a vanity.
Rob restored ours as it needed a little help.
Would love to see photos.
