Geese for My Blind Man’s Fancy Swap

Pic2 Enlarge the photo and see if you can find sandcastles, bees, butterflies, the chicken and the egg and cotton reels and I know the girls have a  sewing machine on theirs and  Gum leaves. Another that is partway finished has wattle. The fabrics are mainly repro but I wanted to put a little of me in. The sandcastles because I live near the beach. The wattle and gum leaves for Australia. One of the friends I am swapping with lives in America. She will know my geese :-)

I have been busy making Flying Geese units for a swap between 2 friends. There is lots of colour and texture in my geese.

I have made 3 times this many geese and there are two other sets the same for my two friends.

I still have 11 sets of 3 or 33  sets of 4 geese to go. I am having fun  making them but they seem to be taking forever. Have been making them for quite a while now. Stealing spare moments of time to sneak out and sew just another lot.

They are all paper pieced. They are trimmed but the papers are still waiting to be removed.

I know I am behind on the Barbara Brackman CW blocks and the Nearly Insane blocks but I want to finally finish these geese.

Hope you All had a great weekend Cheers Lynne

I like your geese. Question, is there a pattern for the quilt in your header? I love it. I have to stop and look at it each time I read one of your posts.

Wow. Gorgeous fabrics. The geese look fabulous.
Can you tell me where you sourced your paper piecing template?

I love love love this quilt! I tried to see where I could order the magazine to make one but can't find one anywhere. I'm in love with all of your blocks - your fabric choices are just amazing.

you could Purloin 8 of these and check out "American Homestead's version of this weeks block and you would have your "Good neighbour done :-)

Wonderful geese. You have an impressive group of fabrics, both the prints and the exciting colors. So glad I'm able to enlarge your photo for a closeup of your mixture.

I'll pose the same question as Cheryl--is there a pattern available for the quilt in your header? I also have to spend time admiring it every time I visit your blog.

Hi All Cheryl and Vivian
Hi Cheryl
The quilt in the headers is made up out of a block called the Friendship quilt block which is in the Around the block book one or I think there is a combination of all three book now by Judy Hopkins
The centre appliqué is my own combination drawing of a decal and a backplate on 2 sewing machines.
Thankyou glad that you like it. I do still need to quilt it!

Hi Lynne - had to come over and say hello after your kind comments on my blog! Your quilt pieces are wonderful & make me think of my grandmother who quilted her whole life. Just beautiful and obviously meaningful for you - a very nice combination.
